Closing the Upturn project – a success after 3.5 years of hard work!

On April 30, 2024, the Upturn project came to a successful conclusion after three and a half years of diligent work by the Polish-Norwegian scientific and research consortium. Co-financed by Norwegian funds, this project was dedicated to developing innovative solutions in the field of microfluidic electrochemical cells.

During the ceremonial closing of the project, representatives from each of the consortium partners: Norway’s SINTEF, Poland’s Gdańsk University of Technology, Institute of Physical Chemistry in Warsaw, and the Polish branch of redox.me, reflected on the project’s ambitious goals and extensive scope. They shared insights into their specific roles and the valuable experiences they gained throughout the project’s implementation.

Paweł Wójcik, PhD, the principal investigator from redox.me, summarised the successes achieved by the project. He presented plans for the market implementation of the developed products and outlined the company’s vision for further advancements in this field.

The cooperation continues

The cooperation continues as the consortium partners are not content to rest on their current achievements. They have already planned several joint projects and submitted applications for additional funding.

Success thanks to funding

The success of the Upturn project was made possible by funding from the Norwegian Financial Mechanisms 2014-2021, managed through the National Center for Research and Development under contract no.: NOR/POLNOR/UPTURN/0060/2019.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all partners for their dedication and collaboration, which were instrumental in the success of this innovative project. We are optimistic about future endeavors and confident that they will yield further significant contributions to the fields of microflows and electrochemistry.
